Hotel Dvořák ****

The town of Tábor is famous for plenty of historical monuments closely tied with the history of the Czech state; these monuments can be found in the town and its vicinity. One of them is also the newly reconstructed precinct of the medieval castle of Kotnov declared as a National culture monument in 1992, together with the Bechyňská Gate and the brewery. The Dvořák Hotel **** is situated just here. A particularity of Tábor is also the complex of underground spaces and passages dated back to the 15th century; the passages under the Žižka square are accessible for visitors. Its entrance can be found in the Museum of Hussitism. Tourists are also attracted by the pilgrimage church of Klokoty which can be nicely seen from the Kotnov tower. The pilgrimage church was founded in about 1700 in place of a former Gothic chapel and it was under construction supported by patrons almost for 30 years. Presently, the building can be compared with the most precious European Baroque buildings. Tábor is also a suitable starting point for trips to its environs and visits to South Bohemian sights. It is possible to visit near Chýnov, famous for its Chýnov cave, the town of Bechyně and the castle ruins of Choustník or Dobronice. The near chateaux of Orlík, Hluboká and Červená Lhota are worthy of attention as well. At the river confluence of Vltava and Otava, swimming with sightseeing in the Gothic castle of Zvíkov can be combine. In Tábor and its vicinity there are also many opportunities to go in for sports there.
